about me

Physionomics arises from the intersection of physiology and economics.
phys·i·ol·o·gy: a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter (as organs, tissues, or cells) and of the physical and chemical phenomena involved
eco·nom·ics:  a social science concerned chiefly with description and analysisof the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services
I write about health economics, health policy and sometimes just something I find interesting that is vaguely health related. I am particularly interested in over-diagnosis/over-screening and individual choice/ risk-tolerance with respect to healthcare and medicine. I first got introduced to health policy as an intern in the AIDS Administration, part of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Since then I have completed my bachelors of science from Johns Hopkins University in Chemical & BioMolecular Engineering. I currently live in Northern Virginia.
